Understanding the Role of Natural Medicinal Compounds Such as Curcumin and Allicin against SARS-CoV-2 Proteins as Potential Treatment against COVID-19: An In Silico Approach - Virupaksha A. Bastikar, Alpana V. Bastikar & Santosh S. Chhajed - Journal of Proteomics & Bioinformatics (23 Jul. 2020):
“Here we have taken 2 naturally present compounds with established medicinal properties such as Curcumin and Allicin for testing their antiviral properties against SARS-CoV-2 proteins. [...] Amongst the Allicin derivatives, Allicin and Ajoene showed good binding affinity for both Main protease as well as RdRp protein. Thus these molecules can be repurposed for their use as antivirals and can be studied for their in vitro and in vivo activity testing against COVID-19. ”
Discovery of Allicin as a Putative Inhibitor of the Main Protease of SARS-CoV-2 by Molecular Docking - Bijun Cheng & Tianjiao Li - Biotechniques (27 May 2020):
“The lack of effective anti-SARS-CoV-2 agents is a current problem and there is urgent demand to discover anti-SARS-CoV-2 inhibitors to combat this deadly disease. SARS-CoV-2 Mpro is an important target for the design of therapeutically useful drugs. In the present study, alliin was screened out to dock with SARS-CoV-2 Mpro and the mechanisms of alliin and known inhibitors were investigated. The results suggested that alliin may be a good candidate for the prevention and treatment of SARS-CoV-2. [...] Our results are based on in silico analysis. We have not conducted further in vivo and in vitro antiviral experiments yet, because we want to share the results with other researchers as quickly as possible. In the next study, we will be close to in vivo and in vitro evaluations and will prepare for clinical trial applications.”

Learn how to protect you and your family from viruses more effectively by discovering the 52 'dietary antivirals' to include in your meals, snacks and drinks every day. Boost your immunity and fight diseases the natural way.
An 'Anti-Viral Diet' has been extensively corroborated by science and is gradually being accepted as an integral part of how people may protect themselves against viruses and treat viral illnesses - one other option to make use of alongside vaccines and antiviral medications. However, Food Science does not currently receive even 1% as much financing as pharmaceutical or vaccine-related research. 10% of the profit from sales of the 'AVD' book are being donated towards essential projects in Anti-Viral Dietary Research.

Edouard d'Araille - Project Lead of Phase 1 of the 'AVD Research Project' - writes about an 'Anti-Viral Diet' that: "Regarding the effects of diet on disease, it is known that healthy, balanced nutrition has greater impact on immunity to viruses than any single vaccine. Science has proven this beyond a shadow of doubt."
'AVD' is a 3-Phase Research Project launched by The Academy of the Third Millennium (A3M). Phase 1 of this scientific inquiry is now complete and a summary of the findings are presented in the volume 'AVD: The Anti-Viral Diet' (2020-2022) available from this website. Information about the progress and purpose of Phases 2 & 3 of this A3M research program will be shared here and at A3M.International.
