This page provides the research behind the 'Anti-Viral Diet'. An individual dossier of scientific research is provided for each of the initial 52 dietary ingredients identified by the 'AVD' project up to this point. Further ingredients will be added as evidence of their anti-viral properties accumulates.
In the case of over 90% of anti-viral ingredients investigated, a substantial body of evidence has accumulated confirming that they exhibit anti-viral effects against COVID-19 and the SARS-CoV-2 virus. New research will be added to each of these databases as additional evidence is forthcoming.
At the outset, the A3M identified over 10,000 publications of relevance to an 'Anti-Viral Diet'. Setting aside works whose focus was the action of dietary ingredients against a variety of pathogens, the core evidence base was refined to a body of 1,497 articles/books relating directly to anti-viral properties.

Edouard d'Araille, lead researcher of Stage I of 'AVD: The Anti-Viral Diet' - has been vocal that we do not stand at an end-point in the investigation of such a diet, but nearer to the starting point:

The findings of new anti-viral dietary research will continue to be added to this database as new results emerge. New ingredients will only be considered on the basis of scientific evidence.
'AVD' is a 3-Phase Research Project launched by The Academy of the Third Millennium (A3M). Phase 1 of this scientific inquiry is now complete and a summary of the findings are presented in the volume 'AVD: The Anti-Viral Diet' (2020/2021) available from this site.
